Animal Reiki Can Help Your Pet Overcome Trauma From Corona Virus

COVID-19 or Corona Virus has pushed nearly 90 percent of the population to working and living in  confinement of their home.

For our pets they feel as if they have won the lottery because they have mom and dad home.

With businesses starting to re-open and pet owners being called back to work, our pets are left feeling confused and abandoned. Many of our pets take to us as their pack so when we leave after being home with them 24/7 for nearly four months, our pets feel abandoned and confused. This may cause them to act out, become fearful, and even defecate even after being potty trained for years.

Luckily, there is animal reiki, a holistic energy healing medicine which can help our pets better adjust to life after COVID-19.

What is Animal Reiki?

Animal reiki is a gentle holistic energy healing in which uses universal life force energy to heal the animal body at cellular level. Animal Reiki promotes the natural healing flow of your pet’s energy which promotes optimal wellness. It is important to note that reiki is NOT a substitute for Veterinary care. If you suspect your pet may have an underlying medical condition please seek Veterinary help immediately.

The Chakras

Your pet has eight main energy points or chakras here are their locations:

Brachial: Located between the shoulder and neck, on horses this is located between their shoulders. The functions of the brachial chakra is to connect to other chakras. The second function of the Brachial chakra is where the energy information on human and pet bond is stored. This can also be balanced to increase the bond between your pet and you.

Crown: Located on top of the head between the ear. This chakra’s function is connection to their spiritual journey.

Third Eye: Located between the browns. This chakra has information and energy that relates to your pet’s self-acceptance.

Throat: Located at throat. This chakra’s function is communication.

Heart Chakra: Found at the chest which traces all the way back to behind the foreleg. This chakra’s function is relationships such as your pet’s relationships with people who are not their owner or other pets.

Solar Plexus: Located at the middle of your pet’s back. This chakra relates to will-power.

Sacral: Placed in between the tail and the middle of the back. This chakra stores loss of home, loss of pet companion, and sexual energy(reproductive).

Root: Located at the tail bone. This chakra connects to feeling safe, being grounded, and survival of the animal.

Your pet also has minor chakras and bud chakras which help with sensory information such as changes in weather.

How Does Animal Reiki Work?

Animal reiki is a gentle and relaxing energy healing. The session is typically done in the comfort of your home as this is where your pet feels most relaxed.

If you cannot have someone come to your home, have no fear! Since energy does not have a physical boundary animal reiki can be done from a distance via video chat, phone call, or even email.

It is best to have a reiki session done when your pet is at a relaxed state this is typically while asleep or laying in their bed with their favorite toy.

If you have a reiki master coming to your home they will first prepare the area for the reiki session. They take a moment to clear their mind. They will then rub their palms together which helps to activate the universal life force energy. The animal reiki master will then place their hands over your pet’s body and work over each energy wheel. It is important to keep in mind that your pet is in control of their session they will direct the flow of of reiki energy to where it is needed. The animal reiki master is the conduit of the energy.

If you are having a distance animal reiki session the reiki practitioner will aim to work on your animal’s chakras while asleep as this is the time when it is most efficient. If your pet is awake that’s fine as well.Do not try to contain your animal in one corner of the room . It is perfectly fine if they wish to walk around. They may even cuddle up with their bed or favorite toy.

In a distance reiki session the practitioner will use their hands and a teddy bear which helps to transfer the energy from their hands to the animal. They will also most likely connect through psychic or intuitive energy. The session is performed as if the practitioner is at your home.

Your pet may also feel less intimated by the energy flow if done at a distance. Most animals find it too overwhelming to be touched especially during the first reiki treatment.

Post Reiki Pet Care Tips

  • Your pet may act as if they have a cold. This is because of the energy detox from reiki.

  • Your pet will most likely be more thirsty than usual which is from the reiki healing. This is perfectly fine.

  • Your pet may be more sleepy, playful , or energetic, or may not change in energy levels. This is all apart of the reiki healing.

  • One reiki session can last a lifetime.

  • For best results it is best to book an animal reiki session at least once per month.
